Different Screens

Beware that there will run as many tests as the number of different browsers and/or screen sizes that you choose.

Global Defaults

Tests in PreFlight have global defaults. Global defaults allow you to change the default settings of all tests. You can override these on a test-by-test basis. But generally we see most of our customers stick to global defaults in most situations.

To set global defaults go to Test Settings > Screen Sizes page and then click the checkbox next to each resolution you'd like to test by default.

These settings will apply to all tests unless you're overriding them on a specific test. Here's how to do that:

Overriding Global Defaults

Once you've set your global defaults, you may find tests you want to run on more or fewer screen sizes than others. For example; specific functionality that has had issues in the past, or core functionality you want to test more thoroughly.

You can override defaults by going to the test you want to override and then click the Screen Sizes drop-down in the test settings (towards the top).

Running on different sizes - one time only

You, of course, also have the option to test on any screen size combination you wish, on-demand. Go to the All Tests page then select the tests you wish to test, or leave them if you want to test all. Click the Run All Tests dropdown and choose the custom settings option. In the screen size section select the screen sizes you wish to test on. Then click the Run All Tests Now button which is located at the bottom of the page

And that's all there is to it! Your tests will run with the screen size you want without overwriting your global defaults or test-specific settings.
